Finished *Forest Born* by Shannon Hale, fourth novel in the Books of Bayern
series, narrated by Rin, younger sister of Razo (who narrated the 3rd book)
by five years...I remember how much I loved *The Goose Girl*, *Enna Burning*,
and *River Secrets*. (And a character is named Isi! Actually, Ani, but long
story... She goes by Isi) Someone's out for Isi's blood, and the only one
that will satisfy that person is if she becomes queen. Already queen of Kel,
that isn't enough--Bayern is her goal... This is her second attempt, and
she's back to life.
Got to C28 of *Rapture of the Deep* by L.A. Meyer, seventh book of the
Bloody Jack series. Jacky's got some trouble--she's done her spy work (not
very well, mind you) and she's about to be wed to Jaimy. But--but now it's:
Get the gold out of the bottom of the sea because you can swim and we don't
want you getting pregnant that's why we kidnapped you on the day of your
wedding... or be hanged. Simple as that... Not really, because it's Jacky,
and anything is possible...
Also, on a side note, I checked out *A Companion to Wolves* by Sarah Monette
and Elizabeth Bear because the wolf-bonding sounded like the Cheysuli
Chronicles by Jennifer Roberson, which were awesome. But apparently this
book has a lot of, uh...disturbing content. THAT I AM SKIPPING. (I refuse
to corrupt myself and I don't care if I'm not being a nice reader.) (But
just saying because people *cough*Cae*cough* might be interested in reading
it. But don't corrupt me, that's all I'm saying.) The bad thing about this
book is that I can never keep anyone straight. Really. Like one character
dies, and this other comes in, and their names are too similar, not to
mention that the wolves and the humans...I can't tell them apart because
their names are too complicated to remember. :P
And I finished *Good Omens* by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. It was
awesome. :D Even if I didn't get the baby swapping because I got confused.
But really awesome book.
So books suggested: Books of Bayern by Shannon Hale, Bloody Jack series by
L.A. Meyer, and Good Omens by Terry Prachett and Neil Gaiman.
